NEW BRITAIN— Mayor Erin Stewart announced a new proactive measure on Monday aimed at combating the possible spread of the coronavirus (COVID-19) in City Hall; effective Tuesday April 7th, 2020, New Britain City Hall will be closed to the public for two weeks. This proactive measure is designed to protect the safety of the public and City Hall employees during the anticipated “surge” period of coronavirus cases in Connecticut. City Hall is scheduled to re-open to the public on Tuesday April 21st, 2020, however it will be subject to the recommendation of the Director of Public Health.

PRESS RELEASE – SNOW EMERGENCY PARKING BAN

SUNDAY FEBRUARY 12TH, 2017 AT 9:00AM

A parking ban has been ordered by Mayor Erin Stewart of New Britain in anticipation of the snow which has been forecasted. The parking ban will go into effect at 9am on Sunday February12th, 2017 and will likely continue through to Monday afternoon. Parking will be prohibited on all city streets while the ban is in effect.

WEDNESDAY FEBRUARY 8TH, 2017 AT 11:59 PM (MIDNIGHT)

A parking ban has been ordered by Mayor Erin Stewart of New Britain in anticipation of the snow which has been forecasted. The parking ban will go into effect at 11:59 PM (midnight) on Wednesday February 8th, 2017 and will likely continue through to Thursday afternoon. Parking will be prohibited on all city streets while the ban is in effect.

New Britain's 2016 Grand List Increases

February 1, 2017 

Mayor Erin E. Stewart and City Assessor Michael Konik announced today that the City’s 2016 Grand List has increased by 0.96 percent—adding $23,708,422 in new assessments to the City’s list of taxable property. This is the third consecutive year that the Grand List has had positive growth.
