Office of the Mayor

The Honorable Erin E. Stewart

NEW BRITAIN TO UNVEIL NEW CITY BRANDING LOGO

WHAT: Mayor Erin Stewart will host a launch event to unveil the City’s new branding campaign and logo

WHEN: Tuesday, January 24, 2017 at 1o a.m.

WHERE: The Stanley Works Center, New Britain Museum of American Art, 56 Lexington Street, New Britain, Conn.

WHO: The public and press is invited to attend. The scheduled speakers include Mayor Erin Stewart; Kim Villanti, Branding and Marketing Creative Leader; Timothy Stewart, President of the Greater New Britain Chamber of Commerce.

BACKGROUND: Over the last six months, Mayor Stewart and community stakeholders embarked on the task of creating a new logo and tagline for the City of New Britain, which is undergoing a transformation that hasn’t been seen in decades. The logo is a nod to the City’s past, but also a unique call to visitors and residents to experience all of the new developments and surprises taking place in New Britain.

"We are rewriting a new chapter in New Britain’s history and it’s time for us to share our successes and surprises with others," Mayor Stewart said.

Mayor Stewart and those who were involved in the branding and logo design process will be available at the press conference to answer questions.

The last time the City had a branding and marketing campaign was in the 1980’s with the "New Britain is the place to Bee" slogan.
