NEW BRITAIN—The New Britain Community Services Department is seeking nominations from employers who have hired individuals with disabilities or from employees with disabilities who are currently in the workplace for a recognition and awards breakfast that will be held in October.
During the month of October, Mayor Erin Stewart, the New Britain Community Services Department, and the Commission on Persons with Disabilities will celebrate National Disability Employment Awareness Month by celebrating the City’s accomplishments and reaffirming its commitment to ensuring that opportunities are available and accessible to every citizen. On Friday, Oct. 4, the Annual Recognition and Awards Breakfast will be held at the Back 9 Tavern at Stanley Golf Course in New Britain. During this time, the Commission will acknowledge the commitment of employers and individuals who share a commitment and positive attitude towards establishing a diverse workplace in New Britain.
All of the nominees and the individuals who nominated them are invited to attend the breakfast, which begins at 8:30 a.m.
“New Britain places a high priority on providing for anyone in need. We are fortunate to have the Commission on Persons with Disabilities and so many agencies right here in our community who are committed to enhancing the lives of countless individuals,” said Mayor Stewart. “I applaud the efforts of the employers in our City who work to make our community a welcoming place for all.”
